Dr. Horrible’s Song-Along Blog, like most other Joss Whedon projects, has a devout fanbase that’s begging for more. According to the web musical’s co-writer Jed Whedon, it’s just a matter of finding the time to make it.
Entertainment Weekly got a statement from Jed with regard to a sequel, who said, “We have many songs written and the plot outlined, but needless to say, we’ve been busy.”
By “we,” Jed’s referring to his wife, Maurissa Tancharoen, and brothers, Zack and Joss, who co-wrote the web musical with him. Jed and Maurissa are the showrunners of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Zack is working on the upcoming TV drama The Red Hood, and Joss is directing a little film called Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Jed goes on to say that the Dr. Horrible sequel “will exist in some format or another” but doesn’t say “when.”
Besides the first installment’s stars — Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day — who would you like to see in the sequel to Dr. Horrible’s Song-Along Blog? A new Whedon-family favourite like Clark Gregg, perhaps?
